Case Discussion Topics
January: De facto couple Mary (female) 41 and Dave (male) 43. 1 son aged 7. Mary experienced birth trauma but reports recovery. Dave has a history of anxiety which is managed with medication. The couple report that they have no had sex in 12mths. Their goal “we would like to reignite their sex life”
February: Parents Jenny (45) and Henry (50) have a 17 year old son Dean. Dean has “come out as gay” and the parents are struggling to accept this.
March: Parents have send their 17 year old son to counselling as they have discovered that he is sexually active and using MDMA to enhance his sexual experience.
April: 70 year old male Barry reports depression due to experiencing Erectile Disfunction for 2 years. He is unable to take medication for this as it causes significant migraine. Barry is otherwise healthy and active. Barry has been married for 25 years to his second wife, Helen aged 50.
May: Carla aged 26 had her first baby Boston 18 mths ago. She is experiencing depression and poor body image since the birth of her baby and this is negatively impacting on her relationship
June: Couple Matt (30) and Kelly (28) are considering an open marriage and are seeking guidance on how to contract how they would like this to work
July: 19 year old male Hayden concerned that he has porn addiction. His girlfriend on 6mths has stated that she will end the relationship if he does not address this concern.
August: Mandy is a 45 year old who divorced 12 mths ago and is keen to start dating again. Mandy was married for 20 years, has no children and is anxious about the dating process as “times have changed since I was last dating”.
September: Married couple Ellen (35) and Terry (37) were high school sweethearts. They had only ever experienced sexual intimacy with each other until last year when Terry had an affair when away on a work trip. The couple are seeking support to rebuild trust.
October: Couple Sally (39) and Mark (40) have gone through 6 cycles of IVF with no success. They were advised that “it probably isn’t going to happen for us” The couple report poor communication and conflict resolutions and are seeking support to improve their relationship.
